The life of a Nigerian princess
              Chapter 1:feminism

Hello🙋 and welcome to my blog, firstly I would like to thank everyone that took out time to read and comment on my last post👏👐 . today's topic is a debate on many tables as women everywhere have joined in the revolution of equal Rights
My question is can feminism work in Nigeria and how would is be perceived

          What is feminism?😮
Feminism is a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve political, economic, personal, and social equality of sexes. Wikipedia

Feminism in the Nigerian society

To be very honest with you in the Nigerian society today feminism is not something that is talked about and this is simply because of the training most girls are given .
From very tender ages we are brought up to respect a man and prepare ourselves for marriage and i'm not saying that we have been given wrong training by our parents I'm simply say that this training has sort of limited our capabilities as females
Thus we are restricted to remain in certain areas and sectors that they believe befits us such as
Tailoring/fashion designing
Catering
Entertainment
We are often advised to stay in our place as any attempt to venture in to a man's field is seen as an attempt to tarnish a mans ego and it is believed that successful women often have little or no respect for men

          True feminism👍👌

True feminism is peculiar to everybody as we have different understanding and perceptions of feminism, most people perceive feminism to be negative because it is commonly misinterpreted as man hating
This is because the women we see everyday fighting for feminism seem to be man haters as many of them remain better and refuse to get married , someone once said to me that most feminist we see today were rape victims yesterday and that's not bad at all but the thing is they often tend to push the feminism to far and then we see what we call man hating
True feminism is not all about protesting and fighting for equal rights ,it is taking your life into your own hands, it is breaking down any barrier that stand's in that way of your dreams what ever this dream may be
A friend of mine who schools at the federal university of technology Mina told me that it is very hard to find a girl in their school, such that if you take a head count of everyone in a hall only approximately 10 people would be female, I'm not sure of the authenticity of this  information but if it were true those it mean that in the near future we would have only but a few women in the technology sector?
If you feel you are just a girl and you can't succeed in a mans field let me share with you  girl that doing it already

 inçi obayendo👇

inçi is an ss2 student and she is one out of the two girls that choose science over arts  ,she has continually been the top of her class being one girl amount serval boys ,inçi stayed in science class even though she was seen as a girl who just loved the attention of guys ,she stayed because she had a dream and a vision that guides her to be the best in a filed that is dominated by the male gender ,believe me I've never heard her say that she is a feminist but what she's doing is practicing feminism without being to in your face about it and to me that is true feminism.

So to the question I asked before 'can feminism work in Nigeria' the answer is yes and no , equality might not work but equity will surly work such that every one gets what they deserve
You really don't have to be so loud about your believe let your actions speak for you ,be a girl  that is self reliant and indispensable
Never believe the lie that men are afraid of successful women in fact any man that fears your success is a perfect example of what you don't need ,
We are still young I know, but we wouldn't always remain as so and it is important for us to know that we too can be great and we to can have a name and a legacy one that we achieved through hard work and diligence, it would break my heart if anyone reading this ends up as just another house wife who doesn't have any impact on the world.
Let me just point out that I'm not a feminist or a man hater I'm just a girl with big dreams and the believe that I can impact and change the world for the better.

Break  down barriers ,destroy stereotypes, take away anything that makes you believe that you can't achieve great things because believe me you can.

I love you 💖💕💟💗for reading this post please let me know what you think in the comments section please feel free to invite 💃 other young girls to read this post ,thank you so much for reading I can't wait to see you at the top!!✌💖✋✋👌
